The building, which sits on 3.6 acres with a reflecting pool, was originally constructed in the Italian Renaissance style in 1918 by Theodore Vail, the first president of AT&T. Shortly thereafter, the estate was sold to Morristown, who used the building for municipal offices for many years. Vail Mansion offers 2 bedroom high-end, single-floor condos with approximately 1,700 to 2,000 square foot of living space. Design features include gourmet kitchens, magnificent cabinetry, marble baths, hardwood flooring, nine-foot ceilings, and technology packages. Residents enjoy private enclosed parking. The development is a condominium or condo association. As of the year 2016, Taylor Management was employed by the residents. The monthly association fee was approximately $560 to $1,100 depending upon the size of the unit and includes exterior building maintenance, common area maintenance, snow removal, landscaping, and trash removal. Amenities include concierge services, a fully equipped fitness center and aerobics studio, a state-of-the-art multimedia theater, and a clubroom.
